Networking Opportunities

Overview

The spirit of Networking Cafe is to enable participants to express, connect, and collaborate. Express what you are interested in learning or sharing, connect with others who have a similar interest, and collaborate by sharing ideas, or even launching collaborative work or projects. Rather than just one event, the Networking Café concept is being extended throughout the conference, providing space and support for attendees to create their own conversations and experiences.

Networking Lunch

We will solicit topic ideas and voting on topics for popularity in advance of the conference. A select number of top vote getting ideas will have tables at lunch for a Birds of a Feather style discussion. Extra time will be allotted for lunch so that you can enjoy your lunch and have time for extended discussion.  Tables at lunch will also be allocated for attendees who just want a break.

Networking Lounge

Our Networking Lounge will be in the Federal Hill room. The room will be divided in three sections so that up to three simultaneous, unrelated discussions can happen at the same time. The topics may come from topics which didn’t quite make it into the Networking Lunch, subject matter experts scheduled in advance by the Open Apereo program committee, and any topic that you choose spontaneously at the conference. We will announce topics in advance and provide an easy way to schedule space on a self service basis.

Project Meetings

Meeting spaces for Apereo projects and special interest groups are available for reservation throughout the conference, including a special Projects day on Thursday! Contact conference-planning@apereo.org to reserve your space.

Lightning Talks

A lightning talk is a very short presentation lasting only a few minutes (5 minutes). Several will usually be delivered in a single period by different speakers.

Lightning talks will be held on Monday and Tuesday at 3:45 - 4:30pm

Sign-up for a lightning talk here!

A sign-up sheet will also be available in front of the conference room.

Hack-a-thon

Need some space to work collaboratively on a software project? Documentation to write? Use cases to discuss? Features to implement?

The Federal Hill room will be available Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening from 8:00 - 11:00pm for collaboration with friends and colleagues.
